The following undated, unidentified newspaper article was found in a copy of Helen Craft's Scrapbook at the Lowell Public Library:
Francis Pinkerton was born in County Dawn, Ireland, on or about the 18th day of February, 1806. He died October 17th, 1893, at the age of 87 years and 8 months. He was united in marriage three times. 1st: to Miss Nancy Weir in Ireland to whom six children were born. Their names are as follows: Robert, who is here at present and living near Wanatah, Indiana; John, who is living at Lincoln, Kansas; also Margarette, William, George and David who are dead. His second marriage was to Ella Anderson, in Ireland, to whom one son was born, being the youngest, James, who lives here in Lowell. His third marriage was to Eliza Markham, in Lowell, who survives him. Francis Pinkerton moved to the United States in 1851 to the state of Ohio, and afterward to the state of Indiana in 1856, in which state he has lived ever since. He was a member of the Presbyterian church until about nine years ago, when he united with the people known as Disciples of Christ in . . . (The rest of the article was missing.)
