Wednesday guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jean Poer were Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Poer, Max, Martha and Junior Poer of Bryan, Ohio; Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Buche, Sonny, Wanda, David and Dean, of Crown Point; Seaman 2/c and Mrs. Lyle Poer, of Evansville. Lyle has just completed his boot training.
The following October 12, 1944, Lowell Tribune item was found on page 2 column 1:
Lyle Poer, S.K. 3/c, is now on recruiting duty with the navy and at present is stationed at Spokane, Wash.
This Lowell Tribune article was found in the March 28, 1946, issue (page 3, column 2):
Lyle Poer, SK 2/c, has been discharged from naval duty at Bremerton, Wash. With his wife, he is now at Bryan, Ohio, where his parents, the J.E. Poers, reside.
