The following August 28, 1952, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 6, column 1:
In 1884, a county "Alms House," a frame home for the poor, was built two miles east of Crown Point. The present County Home of brick buildings was provided in 1912 at the cost of $200,000 which, together with 310 acres of land, can provide a home for 350 inmates.
