The following April 16, 1925 Lowell Tribune article appeared on page 1, column 1:
MARRIED FIFTY YEARS
We have received a copy of the Oakland, Calif., Tribune containing an account of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of Rev. and Mrs. William S. Pryse on March 25th. Seventy-five friends and relatives gathered in the High street Presbyterian church in that city on the evening of the 25th and helped the couple celebrate the happy event. A dinner for the entire company was served. The golden wedding ceremony was performed by Rev. E.T. Rice, one of the trio of ministers who received their degrees at the same time as Dr. Pryse in [the] Wabash, Indiana, college. All four ministers were present at the anniversary celebration. Rev. and Mrs. Pryse have lived in Oakland for about seven years. They are the parents of five children, one of whom is Mrs. Ben Lynch of Lowell. Rev. and Mrs. Pryse have visited their daughter here several times and are known by many of our people who will join us in extending congratulations.
