The following unidentified newspaper article was found in a scrapbook owned by Betty Burton of Lowell:
Married, at the home of the bride's parents, Elder and Mrs. A.M. Hootman, Thursdday, August 3, 1905, William Rider to Miss Claudia Hootman. Elder A.M. Hootman, father of the bride, performed the marriage ceremony. Only the immediate friends of the family were present. The bride is the only daughters of Mr. Hootman by a former marriage and is an accomplished young lady. The groom for the past year has been an employee in the Souvenir office and is an industrious young man. He has severed his connection with the Souvenir office and left Saturday for Herrin, Ill., where he has a position in a printing office. We join the many friends of the happy young couple in extending congratulations and best wishes for their future happiness.
