On December 23, 1869, she was married to Welcome J.* Robinson. One son and one daughter were born of this marriage. The son, Frank O., died in 1895. Her daughter, Mrs. Emma Hayden, one grand-son, Earnest Wartena, and her beloved husband survive and mourn her going.
Four years ago Mrs. Robinson fell and broke her hip, since which time she has been an invalid, enduring a great deal of suffering. She died at 7:30 o'clock in the morning of April 28th, having lived 72 years, 9 months and 23 days.
In early womanhood she was a member of the Baptist church at Rensselaer. On moving to Hammond she transferred her membership to the Methodist church, where she remained a member until her death.
She was a member of the Order of Sons and Daughters of Liberty for several years, at one time serving as presiding officer.
Funeral services were held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. S.F. Hayden, Friday, at 1 p.m. Rev. C.A. Brown had charge of the service. Interment was made in the family lot in the Hammond cemetery in charge of Undertaker Sheets.
The following acted as pall bearers: Fred Backus, James Hill, Clarence Fuller, Herman Carstens, Sc[h]uyler Stilson, and Wesley McKinney.
The following from away attended the funeral: Mr. and Mrs. L.V. Wartena, Luther Wartena, of Leroy, Ill.; Mrs. H.E. Kellinger, Mrs. Clara Jurry, Mrs. Bessie Smith and Mrs. Ernest Wolf, of Hammond.
* NOTE -- The middle initial of Welcome Robinson is "J" in this article, but in his obituary, it is "D."
