Roland Ruble, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Ruble, who is stationed in the Panama Canal Zone, was recently promoted to the rank of sergeant. Roland, in service for the past year, serves as clerk typist at the Caribbean Command Headquarters.
This June 19, 1952, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 2, column 1:
Mr. and Mrs. Chester Ruble were recipients of a very interesting letter, pictures, and souvenirs from their son, Airman First Class Roland Ruble, who, accompanied by his buddy, spent a few days sightseeing at Costa Rica, South America. The boys, stationed at the Panama Canal Zone, flew to and from South America. They tell of the natives' hospitality, the country's beautiful churches and also of seeing active volcanoes.

Roland Ruble, who is stationed with the Air Force in the Panama Canal Zone, was thrilled last week to read of Lowell's centennial activities in his local metropolitan newspaper.
This October 16, 1952, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 5, column 4:
A/1c Roland Ruble pleasantly surprised his parents, the Chester Rubles, by his early arrival home Monday evening. Roland, who had not been home for 15 months, was expected a week later. A clerk-typist, Roland has been serving in the Canal Zone, Caribbean area. He will enjoy a month's leave. The Rubles eagerly anticipate the homecoming of their son, A/3c Charles, from Amarillo, Texas, sometime next week and a family reunion is planned.
The following November 6, 1952, Lowell Tribune article appeared on page 2, column 3:
More than 75 relatives and friends came from Chicago, Hammond, Hebron, Crown Point and Lowell Sunday to spend a most pleasant day with A/1c Roland Ruble and A/2c Chester Ruble. Both boys, home on leave, were honor guests at a family dinner held in the Indian Trail Grange hall.
Charles has reported to Chanute Field, Rantoul, Ill., for more specialized training in jet mechanics and Roland leaves next Tuesday, returning to the Panama Canal Zone.
