A May 11, 1944, Lowell Tribune article (page 1, column 5) lists Bernard J. Seramur of Lowell as one of 26 registrants of the local Selective Service board, Crown Point, who was inducted into the army a week previous. Sixteen men of the group, including Mr. Seramur, were fathers. An article on page 2, column 1 of the same issue adds the following:
Pvt. Bernard J. Seramur has been transferred from Ft. Benjamin Harrison to Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo., where he will take his basic training in the ASFTC.
This Lowell Tribune article was found in the April 12, 1945, issue (page 5, column 3):
Mrs. Marian Seramur left Monday night for Arlanta, Ga., to visit her husband, Pvt. Bernard Seramur.
