A copy of the following unidentified newspaper article was found in a scrapbook owned by Town Historian Richard Schmal:
Ralph H. Simpson, 75, of Chicago, brother to Miss Ethel Simpson of Crown Point and son of the late Rev. and Mrs. J.J. Simpson, one-time residents here, died Saturday, in Edgewater hospital, Chicago. His father came to Crown Point after retirement from the ministry and aided the late Rev. Thomas H. Adkins at First Presbyterian church.
Mr. Simpson was president of the steel fabricating firm in Chicago that bears his name.
Surviving with his sister is a wife, Ione, of Chicago.
Services were held Tuesday morning in Chicago and graveside rites here in Maplewood cemetery were conducted by Rev. L. Humphrey Walz. Miss Simpson, several members of the Presbyterian Church and Mrs.Adkins, now of Gary, attended graveside services.

Son of Former Lowell Minister Dies
Ralph H. Simpson died in Chicago December 1, and memorial services were held Tuesday, December 4, in a chapel at 5501 North Ashland Avenue. Graveside rites were conducted at Maplewood cemetery, Crown Point, where he was interred.
Ralph was the son of the late Rev. J.J. Simpson, minister of the Lowell Presbyterian Church, 303 East Main Street, now occupied by Dr. Robert Corns, optometrist. The church was discontinued about 25 years ago and the Simpsons moved to Crown Point.
Survivors include his wife, Ione of Chicago, and a sister, Ethel Simpson, of Crown Point.
