A retired Lowell farmer, he was a resident of Crown Point for the past 15 years.
Surviving are one son, Harold of Lowell; three daughters, Mrs. Robert Dooley, Mrs. Edward Dietel of Crown Point, and Mrs. Arthur Kruger of Hammond.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete. Linton and McColly Funeral Home of Crown Point is in charge of arrangements.
Always keenly interested in the comfort and well being in their father, his children have fulfilled what would have been his certain wish in asking Dr. Preston Bradley to conduct his service. Dr. Bradley’s talks on the radio and television and his sermons from the People’s church in Chicago had long been a sustaining inspiration to Mr. Sorensen in his understanding and practice of the "good life" and he had only two weeks ago gone to Chicago for a service. Last Sunday found him in church here and he was following his usual daily pattern when stricken Monday.
Born near Holbak, Denmark, September 18, 1869, he served in the Danish cavalry at Copenhagen, later sailing to Greenland, where he worked in a kaolin mine for nearly two years. He then signed on with the skipper of a barge that brought him, in 1892, to the United States. He worked for a lumber and coal firm in Chicago until 1906, [the] year he began farming near Lowell.
His wife, the former Miss Minnie Chapman, whom he married in 1904, died in 1934 and two years later he retired from farm[ing] and moved, first to Lowell, then to Crown Point. Four of their five children survive. They are Harold of Lowell, Mrs. Robert Dooley and Mrs. Dietel of Crown Point, and Mrs. Arthur Kruger of Hammond. He also leaves seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Now at the Linton-McColley funeral home here, the body will be taken at noon Friday to First Presbyterian church, where services are appointed for 3:30 that afternoon.
An Ardent admirer of Dr. Preston Bradley, pastor of the Peoples Church of Chicago, Mr. Sorensen attended services there. Dr. Bradley will officiate at memorial services which will be held at 3 p.m. on Good Friday, April 16, in the Presbyterian church at Crown Point. He will be laid to rest in the West Creek cemetery beside his wife.

Survivors include four children: Harold of Lowell, Mildred Dooley and Agnes Dietel of Crown Point and Hilda Krueger of Hammond. Also, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
