He was married January 29, 1878, to Susan Pierce. Two children were born to them, Margaret May and Luther Ray. Margaret became the wife of Fred Volkee. She died December 31, 1902.
Mr. Stahl came to Indiana when nineteen years of age and has lived in this community ever since. A number of years ago he united with the United Presbyterian Church at Hebron where his membership continued until his death.
He died at his home April 11, 1925, having lived 76 years, 1 month and 9 days. His last days were marked by illness and suffering.
Of this immediate family he leaves his wife, his son Ray and John Leonard Stahl of Glouster, Ohio, and Martin Luther Stahl of Claremont, Calif.; his sisters, Margaret Conrad, Cleveland, Ohio, Anna Catharine Andrews, Uniontown, Penn., and Lusetta Mary Newton, Homeworth, Ohio.
Mr. Stahl was a good citizen, a good neighbor and loved his home. Children delighted in his company. He went his quiet way, lived his good life, trusted his God and loved his fellow men.
The funeral was held at the home Tuesday at 2 o'clock by Rev. C.A. Brown, pastor of the Lowell Methodist Church. Interment in the Hebron cemetery.
