Investigation followed the finding of her husband's body on Wednesday morning by Mrs. Steinmann revealed that upon retiring Tuesday evening, Mr. Steinmann informed his wife that he was going to the basement of the building to care for the furnace. Mrs. Steinmann relates that she immediately fell asleep and did not know the fate of her husband until his body was discovered in the morning.
The merchant, who had been a victim of heart trouble and fainting spells for several years, took a trip to Germany about a year ago to consult a specialist in order to secure relief from the ailment.
Mr. Steinmann was 36 years old and was born in Germany, coming to this country but a few years ago. He located in Crown Point, where by thrift and industry [he] became the owner of a thriving business.
He leaves a wife and two small children, a son and a daughter, and a host of friends in this community to mourn his sad passing.
