The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hedrick of Lowell, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Steward of Lowell.
Marriage vows were exchanged by the couple at a two o'clock, double-ring ceremony with Dr. Richard Thistle officiating. Soloist Jo Ellyn Chadwick sang "The Wedding Song," "The Rose" and "Just You and I," accompanied by Lynda Dawson, organist.
The bride wore a white satin gown styled with an illusion neckline, long sleeves ending in lace bridal points, and a chapel-length train, accented with beaded Alencon lace.
She carried a bouquet of white roses and trailing ivy with pink and white stephanotis. Her bouquet and all other floral pieces were designed and created by the groom's aunt, Donna Steward of Lowell.
The matron of honor was Tammy Hedrick of Lowell, sister-in-law of the bride. Bridesmaids were Karen Hamstra, DeMotte, Kayleen Wallace, Valparaiso, Sue Franklin, New York, and Lisa Brown of Texas, formerly of Lowell. The flower girl was Jennifer Morris of Burnham, Illinois. The bridesmaids and flower girl wore long, pink, off-the-shoulder gowns with a hemline flounce and ruffled train. They carried bouquets of pink and white roses.
Todd Steward of Lowell, brother of the groom, served as best man. The groomsmen were Dave Hirata, Lowell, Skip Henson, Lowell, Steve Erwin, Elkhart, and Dan Newton, Ogden Dunes. The ringbearer was David Hedrick, Lowell, nephew of the bride.
Seating the guests were Greg and Scott Hedrick of Lowell, brothers of the bride, and Bob Cragin of Hobart. Waiting outside the church was a buggy complete with horse and driver to escort the newly-married couple on a ride through town.
A six o'clock dinner reception attended by 250 guests was held at St. George Serbian Hall in Schererville. Music was provided by John Kuiper and the County Line Band.
