The following unidentified newspaper article (ca. early 1900's) was found in a scrapbook owned by Betty Burton of Lowell:
Henry Walker of Chicago, Killed on the Trestle South of Paisley
BODY BROUGHT TO LOWELL.
Tuesday as Henry Walker, 40 years old, of Chicago, but who has been at Charlie Sigler's hotel at Cedar Lake for some time, was walking on the Monon tracks, he was overtaken [on] the trestle south of Paisley by the fast train due to pass this station at 1:28 p.m. and killed, his body being badly mangled. The train stopped and took the remains aboard and brought them to Lowell. Deputy Coroner Farley, of Crown Point, was notified and came down and held an inquest. The man was hard of hearing, and that is probably the reason for the accident. His people live in Chicago, and on notification sent Urvie Spindler and an assistant, who arrived by the 10:40 p.m. train to take charge of the remains, which were removed to the rooms lately occupied by C.E. Binyon, where they were prepared for burial. The body was shipped to Chicago on the 4:15 train last evening.
