Mrs. Hattie Anna (Schmidtke) Wietbrock was born in Stuednitz, Germany, April 2, 1894. At the age of twenty-one she came to the United States and lived in Oak Park, Illinois for five years. On March 2, 1919, she was married to Henry C. Wietbrock, a farmer of Cedar Creek Township. Five children were born to the couple, Harold Henry, Forrest Paul, Violet Justine (Mrs. Donald Ebert) who passed away Aug. 27, 1952, and two daughters who died in infancy.
Mrs. Wietbrock became a member of the Lutheran church at an early age in Somin, Germany. She was one of the charter members of the local Trinity Lutheran church, and was a faithful member until her death. She attained the age of 62 years, six months, and nineteen days.
Her funeral service was held in the Trinity Lutheran Church Wednesday afternoon. Two solos, "Nearer my God to Thee" and "I'm but a Stranger Here" were sung by Mrs. Earl Grelck. Mrs. Arnold Rosenthal presided at the organ. The service was conducted by the Rev. Wm. Adam. Interment was in the Orchard Grove cemetery by the Eskridge Funeral home.
Remaining to mourn the passing of Mrs. Henry C. Wietbrock are her beloved husband, two sons, seven grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
