Pvt. Haskell Witten of Ft. Sam Houston, Tex., is on a 15-day furlough, visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Witten.
This January 28, 1943, Lowell Tribune article was found onpage 5, column 2:
Miss Leta Witten, employed at Franklin, Ind., in the Masonic Home, was here over the week - end. She came to be with her brother, 'Hack" Witten, who was home on furlough from Ft. Sam Houston, Tx.
An August 9, 1945, Lowell Tribune article on page 2, column 1, listed Hack Witten as being home from overseas.

Cpl. Hack Witten has arrived home after receiving his honorable discharge at Camp Bowie, Texas. He has seen much service on the German front. Together with his wife, the former Verna Tilton, he expects to reside here.
