The following unidentified newspaper article (ca. early 1900's) was found in a scrapbook owned by Betty Burton of Lowell:
Mrs. Wheeler Wood, while emptying ashes Sunday morning, fell and broke her right ankle. Dr. Willits was summoned and adjusted the injury. Her left ankle, which has been broken, had not become very strong yet. It is a very unfortunate mishap.
