Lowell Woman Found Dead in Her Farm Home
LOWELL -- The body of Mrs. Melinda Mae Woods, 42, was found hanging from a beam in the basement of her farm home two miles south of Lowell Sunday afternoon, Deputy Sheriff John Hoaster said today.
The body was discovered by Mrs. Woods' husband Earl when he returned to the home after an absence of two hours, Hoaster said.
She had been ______ several months, according to the deputy.

Memorial Rites Today for Mrs. Earl Wood
Memorial services will be held today (Thursday) at 2 p.m. in the Sheets Funeral Home for Mrs. Earl (Malinda Mae) Wood, 42, who was found dead at her farm home on the Joe Martin road on Sunday, January 16. Rev. E.L. Worley will officiate, and burial will be in the West Creek cemetery. She was the daughter of the Arthur Grubbs.
Survivors include her husband, Earl; two daughters, Mrs. Betty Mar Keck of Palmer, and Mrs. Patricia Haynes of Cedar Lake; four grandchildren; two brothers, Earl Grubb of Tennessee, and Oscar Grubb of El Paso, Ill., and three sisters, Mrs. Donald Pittman of Cedar Lake, Mrs. Louise Brock and Mrs. Axie Baker, both of Tennessee.
