Looking east toward Commercial Avenue, this view of Washington Street shows the old livery stable (left), with an addition (painted white). At the time, an implement shop owned by Flynn V. Russell was housed there. Beyond the addtion is the McNay Coal Yard building. A small part of the Love hay barn can be seen on the opposite side of the street in the distance. Harold Sorensen, who worked for Russell and later bought the livery stable, is seen standing behind the tractor (second from right). The date of the photo is believed to be 1926, which can just barely be read on the license plate of the Model T auto when the photo is enlarged.
