RHODA AYERS BLACK
Rhoda Ayers was born May 25, 1852, near Crete, Ill., and passed away May 3, 1927. She was united in marriage to John Black at Chicago Heights, Ill. They moved to Kansas in 1879 and settled on a farm near Barnard where they now reside. To this union were born six children, the two oldest, Agnes and Mary, preceded their mother to the better land some sixteen years ago. The living children are Tom Black, William Black and Mrs. Arthur Brockway, who reside near Barnard, and Mrs. Maggie Long who resides in Messier, Mo.
Early in life Mrs. Black gave her heart to God, and from that time she lived a consistent Christian life until she was called home.
We take the above from the Barnard, Kansas, Bee.
Mrs. Black was a sister of the late Mrs. Harriet Gale, and lived in this vicinity for many years and will be remembered by many of our older people. The bereaved family have the sympathy of their friends here.
