This Lowell Tribune article was found in the March 1, 1945, issue (page 2, column 1):
Robert Brown, A.S., V-12 student at Purdue, has been home on leave the past week with his parents, the L.W. Browns.
In another article on page 5, column 4, of the same issue of the paper, the following is added:
Mr. and Mrs. L.W. Brown and sons, Robert, A.S. and Rex, were in LaPorte Sunday, visiting her sister, Mrs. Ward Hedden, and family. A birthday dinner was served in honor of Bob's birthday.
This November 1, 1945, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 5, column 3:
Robert Brown, Naval Aviation Cadet, has reverted to inactive duty with the U.S. Navy and last week enrolled for his senior year at Purdue. He will take up his studies there next Monday.
