He married Etta J. Nally June 11, 1899, at Brookston. Three sons and four daughters were born to this union of whom all but one son are living.
He became a member of the Methodist church April 7, 1912, under the ministry of Rev. R.H. Johnson.
Mr. Clevenger had been in poor health for three years and confined to his bed for seven months. He passed away in the early morning hours of Thursday March 25, 1920, aged 46 years, 5 months and 5 days.
He leaves to mourn him, his wife, three daughters, two sons, two brothers, one sister, two half-brothers, one half-sister.
Funeral services were held at the M.E. church Saturday at 2 p.m. There was a large attendance of old friends and neighbors who gathered to pay their last respects to a man they respected in life. Rev. C.A. Brown preached the funeral sermon. Interment was made in the Lowell cemetery. Undertaker William Sheets had charge of the burial service.

Whereas, our Arbor has lost a faithful member, the wife a faithful husband and the community an honorable and upright citizen, therefore be it.
Resolved, by Lowell Arbor No. 1514, Ancient Order of Gleaners, that we extend to the bereaved family of Companion Guy Clevinger, our sincere condolence and sympathy, and be it further
Resolved, that our charter be draped and a copy of these resolutions be published in the Lowell Tribune, a copy of these resolutions sent to the bereaved family and a copy spread on the records of the Arbor proceedings.
