DESCRIPTION:Celtic & Americana Music Presentation \nFrom fast\, high-energy jigs and reels to captivating airs\, songs and sea shanties\, Emily Ann Thompson and her husband Kelly Thompson take the audience on a musical and educational journey through the Celtic lands. Emily Ann performs on violin/fiddle while clogging\, and sings in English and Irish Gaelic. She performs with her husband Kelly on guitar\, percussion\, and vocals. This program covers a wide range of Celtic music from Ireland\, Scotland\, England and Canada. Interspersed between the music Emily explains the ornaments & nuances of Celtic music. Their program is energetic and educational and often people can’t resist clapping\, tapping\, singing\, and even sometimes dancing! Emily Ann and Kel are based out of Punta Gorda\, Florida have been performing throughout the U.S. since 2009\, in addition to two tours throughout Ireland. \nIn addition to Celtic\, this program also includes American Old-time and Bluegrass fiddle music and some American folk songs along with Irish\, Scottish\, and English folk songs. Emily demonstrates the differences & similarities of Celtic and American roots music.
