W.T. Jones, who has been serving in the army since last summer, has received his honorable discharge from the army on account of disability. He has returned to Lowell and on Monday assumed his former duties as director of music at Lowell high and grade schools. Keith Gnagy, who has been in charge of the music department at both schools since last fall, resigned and left for his home last week-end to await his call to the service.
This April 8, 1943, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 5, column 3:
Keith Gnagy, former band instructor at L.H.S, and wife, were in Lowell Sunday visiting friends. With Mr. Gnagy scheduled for induction into the army in the near future, they plan to spend a few weeks in southern Indiana visiting her parents.
The following October 26, 1944, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 4 columns 1-2:
Former Music Teacher Here on Visit
Keith Gnagey, former music teacher at Lowell high school, accompanied by his wife, stopped here Monday for a short time enroute to the home of his parents at Angola, Ind. Mr. Gnagey, who has been in the marines and stationed in California for several months, is a member of the marine band.
