She united with the Presbyterian church at Schneider eight years ago, and for some time served as secretary of the Sunday school. She was an honored member of Royal Cedar Camp of Royal Neighbors of Lowell. She was sick for four weeks, having been taken very suddenly ill, and her case was serious from the start, but everything that could be done by loving parents was done but of no avail and she passed quietly away last Thursday, April 21, 1921, at the age 23 years, 5 months and 10 days. The deceased has always lived here, with the exception of three years that she lived with her parents in Canada.
Lillian Goddard was a young lady who was loved and respected by all who knew her and her death is deeply mourned by a large circle of friends outside the immediate family. Her parents have the sincere sympathy of their friends in their great sorrow.
Funeral services were held at the Church of Christ in Lowell last Saturday at 10 a.m. and the church was filled with sorrowing relatives and friends who gathered to pay their last respects to the deceased. Rev. Jones, formerly pastor of the Presbyterian church at Schneider, preached the funeral sermon. Music was furnished by the church choir. Interment was made in the Lowell cemetery. Undertaker William Sheets had charge of the burial service. The pall bearers were graduates of the Class or '17 and teachers and were as follows: Active: Edward Minninger, Dilwyn Nichols, Clayton Davis, Thuel Hayden, Leo Kimmet and E.N. Gragg. Honorary: Ruby Petrie, Mabel Feeley, Lucille Miller, Hilda Dahl, Thelma Hill and Miss Comer.
