She was married to Joseph Hayden December 10, 1854. To this union ten children were born; nine sons and one daughter. One child died in infancy. Those of her children living are -- Lester E., Topeka, Ind.; Sidney O., Lowell; Wilbur M., Kankakee county, Ill.; Anna A., wife of E.W. Bryant, Lafayette, Ind.; Hilton, Chicago; Clarence F., Kankakee county, Ill.; Cass J., Grant Park, Ill.; Merrit E., Kankakee county, Ill.; and R.E., Chicago.
The cause of her death was pneumonia; her sickness lasted about ten days. Her death occurred at her home in Lowell, November 25, 1906. She was 69 years, 8 months and 12 days old at the time of her demise. She was a woman very highly respected by all who knew her and will be sincerely mourned by many outside her immediate family.
Her funeral, which was largely attended, occurred from the West Creek church at 11 a.m., Tuesday, November 27th; Rev. T.W. Harlow preaching the funeral discourse. Funeral Director John Castle had charge of the burial. Interment in the West Creek cemetery beside her husband. We extend sincere sympathy to the bereaved children and other relatives in their dark hour of sorrow.
Those present at the funeral from a distance were: Mrs. Wheeler Dyer, Huntington, Ind., Reuben Hess, Kentland, Ind., Hilton Hayden and son Lawrence and Dr. R.E. Hayden and wife, Chicago, Mrs. E.W. Bryant, Lafayette, Ind., and Lester Hayden, Topeka, Ind.
