The following unidentified newspaper article was found in a scrapbook owned by Harriet Hoevet Bennett:
Pfc. Clayton Hoevet has reported to Chanute Field, Rantoul, Illinois, for 10 weeks of electrical schooling after spending a few days here with his mother, Mrs. Emery Heldt, Mr. Heldt, and sister Mrs. Bruce Jacques and family. Private Hoevet who had been stationed in Panama City, Florida, reported 32 degree temperatures when he left that state.
The following November 22, 1951, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 2, column 3:
Sergeant First Class Charles W. Bennett writes his wife, daughter of Mrs. Emery Heldt, from Korea that he is near the 38th parallel. His duty with the 3rd Infantry, regular army, is alternated with electrical school. Mrs. Bennett, formerly of Lowell, is a government employee in Washington, D.C. She recently had as her guest, Miss Virginia Clark of Virginia's Beauty Shop. Mrs. Heldt's son, Pfc. Clayton Hoevet, was her guest for a few days recently when enroute from Panama City, Florida, to Chanute Field, Rantoul, Ill., where he reported for 10 weeks of electrical schooling.
The following January 3, 1952, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 2, column 4:
During the holidays Cpl. Clayton B. Hoevet spent 10 days furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Emery Heldt of Crown Point. He will return to Chanute AFB where he will resume his studies.
The following October 23, 1952, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 2, column 1:
A/1c Clayton B. Hoevet writes from Tyndall Air Force Base in Florida that he anticipates a Christmas leave and is looking forward to visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Emery Heldt in Crown Point. Clayton mentions that he is well and enjoying cooler weather.
