Marvin Keeney Transferred
T/5 Marvin Keeney has been transferred from Camp Cook, Calif., to Camp Forest, Nashville, Tenn., where he is now participating in army maneuvers. Keeney was employed by Belanger Implement Co, prior to his induction.
This April 13, 1944, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 1, column 5:
Mr. and Mrs. Myron Keeney entertained Mr. and Mrs. Albert Neubauer and family of Hammond, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Rache and family and Harry Keeney of Grant Park, and T/Sgt. Marvin Keeney at dinner Tuesday evening.
Another article on page 5, column 2 further adds:
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Keeney of Grant Park entertained the following, Mrs. Alvina Maas and Miss Margaret Maas of Joliet, Mr. and Mrs. Myron Keeney and Glen and Harry Kenney, on Easter Sunday in honor of their son, T/Sgt. Marvin Keeney, of Camp Atterbury, Ind.
The following October 5, 1944, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 2, column 1:
Transferred to Alabama
Sgt. Marvin Keeney, son of the Myron Keeneys, has been transferred from Camp Atterbury, Ind., to Camp Rucker, Ala.
Note that in this short article, Myron Keeney is listed as the father of Marvin. Other articles indicate that Marvin's father is named Harry.
This Lowell Tribune article was found in the June 14, 1945, issue (page 2, column 1):
A letter received recently by the Myron Keeneys, informs them that his brother, Sgt. Marvin, is now stationed at Ehrwald, Austria, where he is serving as a military policeman. Marvin, formerly employed at the Belanger Implement Sales as a mechanic, saw much service as a mechanic in the tank corps during the German campaign.
A July 19, 1945, Lowell Tribune article (page 2, column 1) mentions that Sgt. Marvin Keeney was on furlough from Austria.
