The following article was found in the March 22, 1917, Lowell Tribune on
page 8, column 4:
The State of Indiana has presented all the members of the State Militia, who served on the Mexican border with a fine badge of service with the following inscription: "Presented by the State of Indiana to the State Militia for services rendered on the Mexican border in the year 1916." Milford McNay, who served in the Purdue Battery, received his badge yesterday morning.
The following article was found on page 1, column 1 of the July 12, 1917, Lowell Tribune:
Milford McNay has entered the service of the United States in the Air Craft Engineering Division of the Signal Service. He is under B.D. Gray. The duty of this division is to carefully inspect all the raw material that goes into aeroplanes. He is now waiting a call to service, which will be soon and he will probably be located in the Curtis plant at Buffalo, N.Y.
