Born in Creston, where his family name is an old and respected one, "Ted" was the son of the late James and Celia Nichols Palmer. Lowell was also a homeplace before he came to Crown Point, where he an his wife, the former Miss Ruth Klug, and their five children lived before going to Leroy. He entered the heating business there about 20 years ago.
Surviving with Mrs. Palmer are four daughters, Mrs. Paul Davis, postmistress at Leroy, Mrs. Donnelly, Mrs. Robert Brannon and Mrs. Heull Atcheson of Crown Point; and a son John, who will soon be discharged from naval service at his South Carolina base. Also left are nine grandchildren, a brother Oliver of Syracuse; and two sisters, Mrs. Clifford Thompson of Lowell and Mrs. Harry Hathaway of Hammond.
Pallbearers for the burial at Chapel Lawn, Schererville were Raymond Fauser, John Keehn, Sidney Kuiper, Harold Henderson, Albert Ziese of Leroy and Crown Point and Emeroy McKnight of LaCrosse.
Born October 30, 1899, at Creston, the son of the Jim Palmers, who later resided on Clark Street, Ted married Ruth Klug of Lowell. Before moving to LeRoy, the Palmers lived in Hammond for many years.
Christian Science services were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in the Merriam Funeral Home in Crown Point and burial was in Chapel Lawn cemetery in Schererville.
Palmer is survived by his widow, Ruth; a son, John, a Navy man in South Carolina; three daughters, Mrs. Paul Davis of LeRoy; Mrs. Harry Donnelly, Mrs. Robert Brannon and Mrs. Heull Atchison, all of Crown Point; a brother, Oliver of Syracuse, Ind.; and two sisters, Mrs. Clifford Thompson of Lowell and Mrs. Harry Hathaway of Hammond.
