The color scheme being pink and orchid, the rooms were beautifully decorated in cut flowers, palms and candles.
Promptly at 4 p.m., the strains of Lohengrin's wedding march were heard as the bridal party descended the stairs to an arch of lilacs and apple blossoms banked with palms, ferns, baskets of roses and cathedral candles at either side, where the double ring service was read that united Manford Pattee and Mabel Woody in marriage.
The bride was lovely in a Georgette gown of yellow, and wore a veil of bridal lace with clusters of orange blossoms. She carried a colonial shower of roses, sweet peas, and lilies of the valley. She was attended by Audrey Wisehart, a sorority sister, who wore a gown of yellow and rose Georgette and she carried a picture hat of silk braid, orchid sweet peas and roses. The groom was attired in a suit of gray and was attended by his twin brother, Malcolm Pattee, who also was in gray. Little Miss Patricia Cox, in peach Georgette, strewing rose petals, led the procession, followed by little Miss Helen Gey, in orchid and cream Georgette, as ring bearer carried the rings in a calla lily.
During the service the following songs were rendered by Miss Ruth Brown, also a sorority sister of the bride, with Miss Nora Pattee at the piano, "My Chi Omega Sweetheart," "My Pal of Sigma Nu," "I Promise You," "Because."
After congratulations, delightful refreshments were served; Amelia Gowdie roses were given as favors.
Mr. and Mrs. Pattee left immediately for a short honeymoon. They will be at home to their friends in Crown Point, where the groom is employed by the Allman-Gary Title Co. Both Mr. and Mrs. Pattee attended Indiana University, where Mrs. Pattee was a member of the Chi-Omega Sorority and Mr. Pattee was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity.
Out of town guests were: Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Pattee, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Pattee, Mr. and Mrs. Horace Carter, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Pattee, Miss Nora Pattee, all of Lowell; Mrs. F.B. Pattee, of Crown Point; Miss Mary Ruth Brown and Medrith Perschbacher, Rochester; Malcolm Pattee, Bloomington; Mr. and Mrs. Owen Boocher and son, of Kokomo; Rev. and Mrs. J.B. Johnson and children, of Waveland; Miss Helen Woody of Sullivan; Miss Lillian Lane, Indianapolis; Miss Thelma Peterson, and Chayce Cox, of Crawfordsville.
* NOTE -- Although his wedding announcement listed the bride's maiden name as "Woody," her maiden name was recorded as "Moody" in the Hayden Family Reunion Book (12th reunion).
