Mr. Steward leaves to mourn his passing his beloved wife, Dessie of Lowell, his three sons, Roger, of Lubbock, Texas, Glenn of Lowell and Roy who is serving in the U.S. Air Force at Perrin Field, Sherman, Texas, and their wives, also three grandsons and one granddaughter, one sister, Inez Elizabeth Mullinix* of Lake Village, Indiana, one cousin, Herman Steward of Calumet City, Ill., a host of friends and neighbors.
After the marriage of Mr. and Mrs. Steward he was employed by the New York Central Railroad where he served faithfully until he was honorably retired in the year of 1940. Mr. Steward suffered a stroke August 20, 1945, and has been in poor health since that time. He was a very industrious man of jovial disposition and made friends readily wherever he went. He will be greatly missed by his neighbors and friends.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Jan. 2nd, 1949, at 2 p.m. from the Weaver Funeral home, E.L. Worley, minister in charge. Burial was in the Lowell cemetery in charge of Weaver and Son.
We wish to express our sincere thanks to all our friends, neighbors and relatives for the kindness and sympathy shown us during the long illness and death of our beloved husband and father. Your kindness shall never be forgotten.
* NOTES -- Harry Steward, Jr.'s obituary lists his death date as Jan. 28, 1924. Also, his sister's married name appears as "Mulinex" in other articles.
