The former Lucinda Hayden, "Lou," was born in Lowell Jan. 19, 1890, the daughter of Grant and Emma Hayden. She was graduated from Lowell high school with the class of 1908 and was married to Bert Strickland Dec. 22, 1910, in the Methodist parsonage at Crown Point. The couple marked their 50th anniversary at an open house last December.
Mrs. Strickland was a member of Indian Trail Grange.
Survivors include her husband, Bert; four children, Mrs. Lafe (Florence) Krutz of Chicago, Mrs. William (Gwyneth) Viers, Mrs. Charles (Margaret) Bailey and Clay Strickland, all of Lowell; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren; two brothers, Vern Hayden of Lafayette, and Forrest Hayden of Chicago; also other relatives and a host of friends.
Memorial services were conducted at 2 p.m. Sept. 24 in the Sheets Funeral Home with the Rev. E.L. Worley officiating, and burial was in Lowell cemetery.
