YA/Teen Reading Challenge Rules and Sample Form
First and foremost, the YA Summer Reading Challenge 2025 is open to all Lowell students ENTERING grades 5 – 12 for the upcoming school year.
For every library book you read and submit, you will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win one of three $50 gift cards or various other prizes. Examples of other prizes are squishmallows, phone charging alarm clocks, and Bluetooth headphones just to name a few.
RULES
- You must have your own valid Lowell Public Library card. Your card must also be in good standing (no fees) by July 28.
- All books must be checked out from the library or read / listened to using one of
our resources (Hoopla, Libby, Teen Book Cloud). - Books must be Juvenile Fiction level or higher. Graphic novels, magazines, audiobooks, physical books, and e-books all count! Please read at your own reading level.
- Entries must be legible.
- You can enter as many times as you want.
The more you read the higher your chance of winning. - No entry will be accepted after 5PM on July 26. No exceptions**In order to keep things fair for both slower and speedier readers, only 5 YA book submissions per person per day will be entered into the raffle. This amended rule is effective as of June 11, 2025.

YA/Teen Summer Programs
YA / Teen Summer Programs are open to all Tri-Creek area students ENTERING grades 5 – 12 for the upcoming school year. Participation in the Summer Reading Challenge is not required to attend programs; however, it is highly encouraged.
Summer programs for the months of June & July will differ from our YA programs throughout the rest of the year. During these summer months, the YA / Teen Programs will be scheduled for WEDNESDAYS during the day. Most of the time they will start at 1pm and end at 2:30. Please check the specific program for exact start time.
REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED to attend the YA summer programs. Spots are limited for certain programs so please try to register as early as possible. Registration will open for each program 1 WEEK prior to the program date.
Below is a list of the upcoming YA / Teen Programs, to register, click the event and follow the registration link that corresponds to that event. Please be sure to check the location of the YA Program. Most are scheduled for the main branch of the Lowell Public Library, BUT some listed programs are for our Schneider and Shelby branches.
Our End of Summer Reading Bash (7/30) can only be attended if you’ve participated in the Summer Reading Challenge or if you’ve attended AT LEAST ONE of the YA Summer Programs.
