An article about the West Creek Township 8th grade commencement was in the May 18, 1901, issue of the Lowell Souvenir (page 9, column 2). Following a song by the Lowell Ladies' Quartet, were essays by Beulah Plummer and Hanna Schilling and recitations by Iona Chapman, Jessie Pulver and Logie Scritchfield, all which were pleasingly rendered and attentively received by the audience.
