According to a "Pioneer History" column in the January 30, 1980, issue of the Lowell Tribune, John Childers, of the 73rd Regiment, Company A, died at Nashville, Tennessee, on December 3, 1862. The monumnet in Lowell, Indiana, indicates he was from West Creek.
