Doris J. Ruark Hall was born in Momence, Illinois, to Daisy and Alvin
Ruark of April 1, 1931. She was both a homemaker and a cosmetologist
for many years. She was a former member of the Shelby School PTA,
Shelby Home Economic Juniors Club, Shelby Lady Lioness Club, Shelby Fire
Department Auxiliary, and the Korean War Veteran's Association #192, and
served as a trustee of the Citrus Springs Post #4864 chapter of the VFW
Auxiliary, and president of the Rainbow Square Dance Club. Doris J.
Hall and her husband of 55 years enjoyed many years of retirement in
Florida. She enjoyed traveling, square dancing, and was an avid
gardener. She volunteered her time mentoring at-risk children at the
local elementary school and worked tirelessly with Habitat for Humanity
in Citrus County, Florida. Her time on earth was spent helping and
supporting others, truly setting a wonderful example for those who knew
her. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American
Heart Association.
