Shocking news came to the Hall family in Crown Point Monday when Miss Ula Hall received a letter from the Deaconess hospital in Spokane, Wash., telling her that both her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Hall of this city, were in the hospital, having been badly hurt in an automobile accident several days prior. Mr. and Mrs. Hall in company with Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Kinsley had gone to a small mountain resort to spend the day. On the return trip when coming down an embankment Mr. Kinsley in some way lost control of the machine which turned turtle. Mr. Kinsley was killed outright, Mrs. Hall suffered a broken hip, Mr. Hall was badly bruised, Mrs. Kinsley escaped unhurt. Mr. Kinsley is a brother-in-law of the Halls and it was in his home that the Halls were guests.
Mr. and Mrs. Hall were taken to the hospital and are getting along as well as could be expected, though Mrs. Hall will no doubt be confined there a couple of months. Mr. Hall is able to be about in a wheel chair.
The Halls left Crown Point for a western trip expecting to be gone a couple of months. It is to be regretted that their trip will have such sad memories for them. -- Lake County Times.
Mr. and Mrs. Hall are parents of Mrs. Byrl Grant and Mrs. Hall is a sister of Will Newkirk. Mr. and Mrs. Hall have many friends here who wish for them a speedy recovery from their injuries.
The home was prettily decorated in yellow flowers and gold trimmings and a sumptuous dinner was served at 5:30, to which about fifty invited guests did ample justice. Mr. and Mrs. Hall were the recipients of many congratulations from neighbors and friends, and a number of handsome presents were given the bride and groom as a remembrance of the occasion and as tokens of the esteem in which they are held.
Five children were present, Miss Ula Hall, Eldridge W. Hall, Mrs. Clarence J. Houk, all of Crown Point; Mrs. W.H. Childress of Oak Park, Ill.; Mrs. Byrl Grant, of Lowell, and their families. Seven grand-children were present.
