Mrs. F.F. Heighway, of Crown Point, was in Lowell Monday evening. She went from here to Monticello to visit her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George VanAlstine.

Mrs. F.F. Heighway, of Crown Point, visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Kelsey Monday night. She was on her way back from Monticello, where she had been to see her father, George Van Alstine, who is very sick.

FORMER RESIDENT DIES SUNDAY

Mrs. Minnie Heighway, 80, widow of Frank Heighway, former Lowell, Crown Point and county schools superintendent, died Sunday in Dyer.

Mrs. Heighway was born west of Lowell on the farm where her brother, Ernest Van Alstine, 84, still resides.

She was an accomplished pianist and music teacher. The Heighways lived in Lowell, where he was superintendent of Lowell schools, until he accepted the post of county superintendent of schools. Mrs. Heighway always served as her husband’s assistant. He died in 1922.

A daughter, Mrs. O.E. Peterson of Crown Point, survives.

Rev. Thomas Adkins of the First Presbyterian church, officiated at private rites held at 2 p.m. Wednesday (yesterday), in the Miriam funeral home, Crown Point. Interment was in Maplewood cemetery.
