An article listing all the men in Cedar Creek, West Creek and Eagle Creek Townships who were drafted into the army the previous Friday was in the July 26, 1917, issue of the Lowell Tribune (page 8, columns 4-6). Among the men listed from Cedar Creek Township was Walter L. Miller. He was given the serial number 1669 and was the 9560th person on the draft list.
