It was a gala event for the Mixes, for the occasion brought together everyone of their family -- children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. They included Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Edmondson and John; Mr. and Mrs. Garland Fish; Dickie Gene and Gayle Ann, of Lowell; Mr. and Mrs. John Borum, Susan and Michael of Kendalville; Mrs. Paul Fernandez and daughter Virginia of Grand Rapids, Mich.; and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Kessler, Steven, David and Susan, of Chicago.
Virginia Kessler remained for a visit with her sister and family, the Garland Fishes, and the Broom family visited until Tuesday with area relatives. John Borum spent Monday in Lafayette, where he attended an assistant manager's meeting of the Sears, Roebuck, and Co., held at the Fowler Hotel.
Present from Lowell were their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Edmondson and son John, and daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. James Curless, Cindy and Timmy, also the C.U. Ragons, special friends of the Mixes. Mr. Mix was a printer at the Lowell Tribune. Mr. Ragon was publisher. Joining the group in Quincy were the Edmondson's daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. John Borum, Susan and Michael of Kendallville, and their foster son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Hord Maddock and Danny of Indianapolis; also, Mr. Mix's niece, Mrs. Harry Benson; his nephews and their wives, Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Miller, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Miller, and Mr. and Mrs. Claude Miller, all of Corydon.
Mr. and Mrs. Mix were married in Salem, Ind., on the bride's birthday, by Rev. J.H. Carnes, pastor of the Salem Methodist church. Rev. Carnes is still living, and makes his home in Richmond, where he still performs many pastoral duties.
The Mixes were remembered with many lovely gifts and congratulatory cards. A special gift from the neighborhood was a beautiful arrangement of fall flowers.
