BENJAMIN NICHOLS
PASSES AWAY AT HIS HOME IN WICHITA, KANSAS. A FORMER RESIDENT
Word has been received by relatives here of the death of Benjamin Franklin Nichols, who passed away at his home in Wichita, Kansas, where for many years he was in the real estate business.
The deceased resided in Lowell until 1868, when, with his bride of a month, he moved to Kansas, where he has since resided with his family.
During his long business career in Kansas he amassed a comfortable fortune and retired from active business in 1907.
During the Civil War he served in Co. H, 128th Indiana Volunteer Infantry. He was a member of the Wichita, Kansas, G.A.R. Post.
Mr. Nichols was a brother of the late H.J. Nichols, and an uncle of W.J. Nichols, Mrs. Laura Johnson, Mrs. E.H. Ruge and Miss Sadie and Huron Nichols of Lowell.
He has made many trips back to his boyhood home, the last one being to attend the first Fuller family reunion last July, and he was the oldest member of the family present and came the longest distance.
The deceased was born in Lowell May 20, 1845 and was 82 years, 1 month and 20 days of age.
