On October 6, 1860, she was united in marriage to George W. Palmer. To this union was born 13 children, ten of whom preceded the mother to the spirit world. On July 16, 1876, she was received into the membership of the Creston M.E. church under the pastorate of F.D. Baker, and has lived in the faith of Christ.
She is survived by a loving husband, three daughters, Mrs. Oakey Vallee, of Creston, Mrs. Florence Ford, of Steger, Ill., and Mrs. Olive Lang, of Nazareth, Texas, five sisters, Mrs. T.E. Vinnedge, of Creston, Mrs. M.A. Nichols, of Lowell, Mrs. Celesta Barber, of Creston, Mrs. Lucy Witter and Mrs. Mark Palmer, of Hammond, fourteen grandchildren and a large number of other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Palmer was a great home lover and her greatest aim in life was to make a pleasant home for her husband and children. She was a woman who had the love and respect of all who knew her and she will be sadly missed by many outside her immediate family.
Funeral services were held at the Creston M.E. church Friday at 2 o'clock. The services were attended by a large number of her sorrowing friends and neighbors. Rev. V.B. Servies, pastor of the Lowell M.E. church, preached the funeral sermon. Interment was made in the Creston cemetery. Undertaker John Castle had charge of the burial services. We extend to the sorrowing family our heartfelt sympathy.
