Lewis Wood made the 29th birthday anniversary of his wife, which occurred Tuesday, the occasion to get up a surprise on her. About thirty assembled in the opera house, where the arrangements had been made on the sly by her husband to give her an evening of enjoyment with her friends as well as a surprise. The evening was very pleasantly spent in social enjoyment, including a social dance. Refreshments in the form of ice cream and cake and oysters were served. The music was furnished by Messrs. Herm Purdy, Burdette Sanger, Will Dickinson and Bert Wood. The party broke up at a late hour, all repairing to their homes, feeling that a very enjoyable evening had been spent, and wishing Mrs. Wood many happy returns of the occasion. Those in attendance were:
Messrs. and Mesdames -- E.E. Woodcock, Nate Slusser, E.N. Gragg, Starr Brownell, Emil Sirois, John Thompson, Claude Binyon, Silas Hogan, Fred Turner, Will Tanner, Charles Pulver.
Messrs. Tom Comerford and Ed. Brownell.
