The afternoon was very pleasantly spent in renewing old acquaintances and quiet sociability. The oldest person present was grandma Sutton, who is passed her 81st year. At 5 o'clock a dainty lap supper was served, which was very much enjoyed by all. Elder John Bruce returned thanks. The only thing to mar the afternoon was the sudden sickness of Mr. Ashton, who was seized with a sudden fainting spell, which lasted for half an hour, after which he was able to sit up and converse. For fifty years this couple have helped to bear each other's sorrows and to share each other's joys and now in the evening of life are blessed with a reasonable degree of health; surrounded by numerous friends who wish them continued happiness till the end comes.
