A pretty June wedding was that of Miss Arleen Mabel Mulliken, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S.A. Mulliken, and Alfred Ackerman, son of W.H. Ackerman, of Fresno, California, which occurred Wednesday evening, June 16, at 8 o'clock before an assembly of intimate friends and relatives.The ceremony was performed in the living room before the fireplace, which was banked with ferns, palms, peonies and June roses. Miss Mildred Chase sang a solo preceding the ceremony, and Miss Helen Stecker played the Lohengrin wedding march. George Edgar Gullen, pastor of the West Grand Boulevard M.E. church, officiated.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white georgette and satin, trimmed in beads. She carried a large arm bouquet of ophelia roses and sweet peas. Miss Elfrieda Cruickshank, who was Miss Mulliken's maid of honor, wore pale yellow organdy and carried an arm bouquet of sunburst roses and pink sweet peas. Mr. Ackerman was accompanied by Howard A. Sherman as best man.
Immediately following the ceremony the guests were served with a buffet luncheon in the large dining room, which was decorated in pink and white peonies and roses. Mr. and Mrs. Ackerman left on a trip to Cleveland, Buffalo and Niagara Falls. On their return they will be at home at 86 Hanover avenue.
Among the out-of-town guests were Mrs. M.A. Mulliken, of Chicago, grandmother of the bride, and the aged grand-parents of the groom, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Ackerman, of Romeo, Michigan. -- Detroit (Michigan) Free Press
The bride is the grand-daughter of Mrs. W.W. Ackerman and has many friends here who extend congratulations and best wishes to her and her husband.
