Jabez Clark Memorial Plaque

On the first weekend in August 2002, as part of the Historical Weekend events to celebrate the Town of Lowell's Sesquicentennial, a memorial plaque honoring 1837 pioneer Dr. Jabez Clark was replaced on a stone at the northwest corner of Main and Union Streets, in front of the former Lowell Grade and High School, circa 1896. The two original plaques from 1925, honoring Clark and town founder Melvin Halsted, had been missing for decades.
