A Close Call.

Last Friday morning about half past three during a heavy thunder storm, Niles Clement's house, about five miles northeast of Lowell, was struck by lightening. A few minutes before he bolt came, their two little girls, who were sleeping upstairs, got frightened and came down. The electrical current not only tore out nearly the whole end of the house, but shivered the bed stead on which the children were sleeping. It was certainly a close call. The current ran over nearly the entire house, doing considerable damage. Mr. Clement is insured in the Lake County Farmers Mutual.

At about 2 o'clock Friday morning of last week, lightning struck Niles Clement's house tearing the siding and studding off and sending it quite a distance away. It struck in the upper part of the house breaking every glass in one window. The two girls were sleeping upstairs . . . [The article was cut off at this point.]
