Mrs. Fred Miller

Mrs. Fred Miller

The following unidentified newspaper article (ca. early 1900's) was found in a scrapbook owned by Betty Burton of Lowell:

    Barn Burned

The barn on Mrs. Fred Miller's place east of Creston was struck by lightning Saturday night and burned, together with six tons of hay, a set of double harness and a set of single harness belonging to George Palmer, who lived on the place but was moving away. He had caught his chickens and put them in a coop outside of the barn or they would have been burned. Mrs. Miller had a $200 policy in the Farmers' Mutual and Mr. Palmer's hay was insured in the same company.
