    Kenneth L. "Buster" Hess, Sr., age 73, of Lake Villiage, passed away Mon., Oct. 25, 1993, at his residence. He is survived by: one son, Benjamin (Phyllis) Hess of Blytheville, Ark.; two daughters, Karen (Joseph, Sr.) Leach of DeMotte, and Kelly (Ernie) Goularte of Tulsa, Okla.; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Bonnie Buckley of Lowell, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Hess, in 1969, and a son, Kenneth Hess, Jr., on Sept. 19, 1993. Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Oct. 28 from the Lake Village Presbyterian Church , with Pastor Richard Marcy officiating. Burial followed at the Lake Village Cemetery. Visitation was held from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Oct. 27 at Sheets Funeral Home, Lowell. Kenneth Hess was a military veteran of World War II and a retired steelworker for the LaSalle Steel Company, as well as a former janitor in the Lake Village schools and a "Santa Claus" for many years in the Lake Village area. He was a member of VFW Post 6841 in Lowell, American Legion Post 375 in Lake Village, the Howard O'Hunter Masonic Lodge of Lake Village, the Lake Village Pomona Grange, and the Lake Village Presbyterian Church, and was past president of the Lake Village Community Assn.
